Chateau de Fieuzal Rouge 2018 Pessac-Leognan

Chateau de Fieuzal Rouge 2018 Pessac-Leognan

Château de Fieuzal Rouge 2018 is a rich and structured Graves red showing ripe black-fruit depth and classic earthy complexity. The nose combines black cherry, cassis and plum with layers of spice, tobacco, graphite and subtle smoky/earthy notes characteristic of the terroir. On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied with firm, youthful tannins and a core of dense dark fruit supported by lively acidity. Hints of dark chocolate, dried herbs and forest floor add dimension, leading to a long, slightly austere but ageworthy finish. Aged 12–16 months in oak (a majority new), the 2018 reflects one of the estate’s stronger recent vintages. Powerful yet balanced, benefitting from decanting now and capable of aging gracefully for over a decade.
